Nice Track (^^)b

Very very smooth track you have here. The pad sounds great and the minimal synth fit the ambient tone of the track perfectly. I like how the drums are done and not to reverby, just the right amount to help the track feel more spacious. Awesome use of the LFO automation as well.

I've always thought that dubstep lent itself well to the more soothing liquid styles and you have proven it with this track. The only thing that I would do to it is give the bass a little more depth. I know this is an ambient crossover but maybe just a tad deeper bass would help in my opinion, though I do like how it was patterned and automated. Overall job well done :)

Masterpiece!

Listening to this track was 6 minutes of pure bliss. The opening immediately caught my attention with subtle cues bouncing back and forth between my phones. The somber pad sets the mood very well, giving the track a very cold feeling. The minimal percussion is very pleasing to the ear again with very subtle glitch cues and does a good job of setting the pace. What I didn't expect was the bass, omg it's seriously the icing on the cake. Heavy, gritty, sterile(in a good way) and very well mastered.

Overall this track is very precise and well thought out, sucking you in further and further as it draws you in with it's masterfully sequencing, and superb ambience. All the while the bass and percussion keep you constantly moving to the next set piece with the flowing pads to keep you company. This audio track is simply one of the most engrossing things I have heard here on newgrounds and it really paints a vivid picture in your mind when you listen to it. In my opinion this is an ambient masterpiece =D

Why thank you! I attempted to have a very clear bassline, but I added a lot of filter effects to it. I really enjoyed working on this song, so thanks for taking the time to review. :)

I'll have to check out some of your songs as well. <3

NAUGHTY! xD

Wow this is really good. I really like the way you made the bass sound, a kind of soft but full feeling that I don't notice often in dubstep(well yah there's liquid but...). The percusion is super crisp and the whole melody evokes a sense of playfulness and creepy. Perfect haloween track. Also yes I did laugh at the 'naughty' part xD. Only thing I can think of for a con is that I think the intro was a little empty. Good stuff though.

Thanks for the review. I'm honestly thinking about adding a little bit more to the intro now. If you have anything in mind, drop me a line.

Thanks again. Skank out to this stuff in a graveyard and tell me what happens.

Well,

You certainly have an ear for a catchy hook that's for sure. The beggining was explosive for this track as well. I like the chill sounding percussion and the melody is very catchy. My only problems would be that it doesn't change up much throughout and the lack of any real bassline threw me off. The exit transition was also kinda weird. It still is a great idea with an awesome melody though.

Thanks man. I will take what you said and I will make a updated version with a new bassline and a better ending. Thanks for the review.

Great Stuff

I agree with the previous post the intro was great caught my attention immediately. I love the synth choice and the melody as well. The drums are big and fit well. The track is great overall except for the length. I can understand you reason though.

Thanks a ton. I am so glad you liked it. Hope that you will enjoy some of the other songs that I am making and have made. Thank you again. Peace.

Sounds fantastic!

I love the mellow sound of this track. Very smooth, flowing and relaxing. The drums were very well done and the synth/instrument cues were spot on. I'll definitely be playing this to a few games of WipEout. Thanks for the great track!

This is great, I remember playing that and goin wtf lol. Good idea on making this, very unique submission. I bet most people never thought of remixing this cause they didn't have the skillz to get to the part XD. Keep up the good work!

Thanks, m8, although I'm positive there have been quite a few remixes, just glad I was able to present a unique element to the original low-key score :3

Wow...

This a great remake. I am also a lover of Extreme-G, hate the fact the Acclaim died =(. I love the DnB twist and the synth choice was very good. Defineiteley captures the essence of the firt XG. I remember this was on the Third stage of the first area. The audio I believe is called Devil Speed Unborn. This is sick, excellent tribute to one of the greatest game soundtracks and most original futuristic racers out there.

P.S. I tried to make something as a tribute to XG. Not a remix, but it didn't turn out as good as yours xD. It's called against the blue if your interested in my puny mortal attempts xD.

Michael425 responds:

Yeah Extreme-G was a great game.
The synths took me a while to find. I tried to get ones that sounded like the originals.
Also that was the song that I re-made. It was my favorite one on the whole soundtrack. I felt that it had the most energy.

I will go check out your song. Thanks for the review man.

Great!

You definitely did change more than the percussion. I think this audio sounds overall much better. I think it is good that you stuck with the theme to the end but made it flow and change up considerably. I also love the subtle effects thrown into the back, really does a great job of setting the mood. I am liking the eq this time around too. Really great stuff, probably good tense situtation music for a flash.

Your effort can be heard, good job!

Gimbal-Lock responds:

Yes, the version you heard definitely needed a lot more depth added to it. Glad you thought this new version was better! Thank you very much for your kind words, and I'll be sure to give your work the same thorough reviews.

Neatness

You've got some good stuff going on here. I absolutley love your bass line. Still liked it after the change too, compression was good enough to sort that out. Good that nothing is being drowned out. Not a whole lot of change, but yeah it is a demo and psytrance is generally progressive. Lol, hard to be progressive in 1:17, right? I loved the part that it built up to, can't wait to hear the rest of this.
